The Dish Network and Directv really do offer you
all of the equipment you need to receive satellite TV in multiple rooms
of your house. (Each room can watch different channels at the same time.)
Of course, you are also making a commitment to pay your monthly programming
charges. This means you can get up to $1,500 worth of satellite equipment
installed in your home without having to buy the equipment!
Generally, satellite TV is not too much different
from basic broadcast television which is received from a basic set of
rabbit ears or an antenna. Both satellite and basic broadcast signals
are sent through the air waves to our homes. The problem with broadcast
waves is the shape of the earth. Since the earth is round and spinning,
it bends and degrades the signal making it more difficult to receive
good reception.
In contrast to cable, satellite Tv systems give
you the ability to control what you see, how you see it, and you have
no type of restraints. The downside is that if this technology is outdated,
or (made illegal) through some congressional mandate that requires copyright
protections, then you're out the money that you spent on the equipment.
The upside to that is Directv and Dish Network both are offering free
equipment when you sign up for one of their diverse programming packages.
Compared to cable, digital
satellite TV systems give you a whole lot more for a whole lot less!
Unlike cable or digital cable, all satellite channels are 100% digital-quality
picture and sound, including local channels.
